Halloween

Halloween

Hallowe'en has become an increasingly popular celebration over the past few years for children, families and young people especially, but it is important not to have fun at the expense of others.

To keep everyone happy and safe this Halloween we would ask that anyone taking their children trick or treating, or older young people going out without an adult, adhere to the following guidelines:

• Respect signs asking you not to trick or treat at someone's home.

• Adults should always accompany young children when trick or treating.

• Young people should never go trick or treating alone.

• Plan your route before leaving home.

• Do not knock on the doors of strangers – only go to people you know.

• Never go inside a stranger's home.

• Always keep to well-lit areas. Wear bright clothing and always carry a torch.

• Unless pre-arranged, do not visit elderly or vulnerable members of the community.

• Don't play pranks that may damage property (including throwing eggs or flour) – it is classed as a criminal offence and you could be arrested.

If you do not want trick or treaters to knock on your door feel free to print out the attached poster and put this on your door. If you do not have access to a printer we have some laminated posters at the Parish Office that residents can help themselves to.
